The Hangover as a Philosophical Dialogue

When you think about it, a hangover is a profound spiritual and philosophical experience.

You start with the Metaphysical questions -

Who am I?
Where am I?
Why am I here?
Who are you?

Then you move on to the Epistemological ones -

Do you know who I am?
How do you know who I am?

Next comes the Theological questions -

How in hell did I wind up here?
What in God's name did I do last night?
Oh God! I didn't do that did I?

After Theology, most people resort to logic -

Now, I'm reasonable person - I wouldn't have challenged the bouncer to a fist fight...
No, hang on, I get drunk on the sniff of the barmaid's apron - I can't have drunk all of those drinks...

However, the final stage is the move to Moral Theory -

I wish I hadn't done that...
What I did was wrong...

And there you have it - a profound philosophical discussion, after a night on the tiles.
